Requirements
30%: Pre-SXSW Activities
- Previews – You will be expected to complete at least five previews before the event. At least one must include video that you have taken with the panelist. We can discuss ways to do this with Skype.
- Weekly News and Top 5 posts – you will be expected to do at least one of each before the event.
20%: On Site – You will be expected to do required posts and other content activities each day.
- At least one text post per day (including images and links). This could be a panel overview or coverage of other SXSW activity or an overview of a few things you experienced throughout the day.
- At least one post per day to include a short interview – panelist or other attendee. You can work in teams or on your own to get these interviews. The textual part of these posts should be short, but give enough detail to provide the context for the interview. Ask one or two questions to the person, so the interviews are 1-2 minutes in length. Use your smartphone, hold in landscape (sideways mode), so you can post wide to YouTube. But you can use Instagram (Story, Save) to convert to a vertical for Snapchat.
- For each panel you attend, take at least one photo and include a quote on it. You should post on Twitter and Instagram with your own account using the #sxtxstate hashtag. Social team will post these to our sxtxstate accounts. We will discuss the format and platform. Your post should include brief context — the speaker (and their account info, if available) and the topic of the presentation or panel. Try to get good, clear, interesting images.
20%: Responsibility Area – you will be evaluated on your assigned area Web Development, Social Media, Content Editor and Video Projects. This will include peer evaluation.
20%: Post SXSW – Wrap Up and Panel Proposal
10%: Participation and Attendance
